We have shops and restaurants, cafes & pubs all round us, there is also the new Spencer St. Shopping Centre, with 200 + shops only 1 minutes walk away and Bourke St. Mall 3 blocks or 6 minutes walk from the hotel. The tram to Bourke St. Mall stops in front of Alto Hotel on Bourke.

The A-Lounge, our own restaurant is open 7 days per week for Breakfast and from Monday to Friday for dinner,. [it is closed on all Public Holidays]. Discounted breakfast option can be selected when making your booking however cannot be cancelled after the booking arrival date.

- AIRPORT BUS -Tullamarine Airport
TULLAMARINE AIRPORT (Skybus Tel. 9335 3066 or www.skybus.com.au). The airport Skybus departs from Southern Cross Melbourne Bus Terminal. The terminal is on Spencer Street, approximately 90 metres from Alto Hotel and is within easy walking distance.
Travel time: from Southern Cross bus terminal to Tullamarine Airport, allow 25 minutes. Departures: Buses depart every 10 minutes between 5am &10pm and hourly during the night. Approximate costs: (Nov 2010) $ 16 for adults one way, $26 return ticket. $ 6 for children one-way under 14 years. $ 36 for families one-way includes 2 adults and up to 4 children, $56 for return tickets.

AVALON AIRPORT (Sita Coaches tel. 9689 7999 or www.sitacoaches.com.au ) Avalon bus service departs from Bay 66 at Southern Cross Melbourne Bus Terminal. The terminal is on Spencer St approximately 90 metres from Alto Hotel and is within easy walking distance.
Travel time: Melbourne to Avalon Airport, allow 50 minutes. Departures: Buses depart 2 hours and 5 minutes prior to each flight departure. There is no need for bookings, but it is preferable to talk to the company in order to get exact departure times. Approx costs: (Nov 2010) from Southern Cross Terminal $20 adults single, $36 return $10 child single, $20 return Hotel pickup by Sita Coaches $27 adult, $13.50 child

- AIRPORT TAXI or LIMOUSINE
For reservations please dial 9 or use the automatic direct line in main foyer. For early flights we recommend you book the previous night and be in the foyer a few minutes prior to the booked time. At all other times please allow approximately 10 minutes for cab to arrive at hotel. Travel time to Tullamarine Airport; allow 40 minutes at peak times and 30 min. at all other times. Travel time to Avalon Airport; allow 70 minutes at peak times and 50 minutes at all other times. Approx cost (Nov 2010) is approximately Aust $60 to Tullamarine Airport and A$115 to Avalon.

- DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT
All bookings require a deposit of one night accommodation to secure your booking. This will be deducted at time of booking from your credit card. Should a booking be cancelled more than 2 days prior to arrival date the deposit will be refunded.

- IS A CREDIT CARD REQUIRED AT CHECK IN
Credit Card BELONGING TO THE RESERVATION HOLDER MUST be presented for authorisation on arrival. Credit Card holder must be the registered guest. A pre-authorisation of $50 minimum plus outstanding accommodation charges, will be processed on the credit card at check-in. Pre-authorisations amounts are set aside by the credit card company for up to 14 days and will temporarily affect your available funds balance or spending limit.

- WHAT IS YOUR CANCELATION POLICY
Advance Purchase bookings - cancellations or changes are not permitted, non refundbale. All other bookings we must be notified of cancellations and or changes at least 2 days prior to arrival date, in order to avoid a no show/cancellation charge of one full night's room rate. Cancellation with less than 2 days notice will incur a fee equal to one night's room rate.
Bookings made via travel Agents, website and or other third parties (i.e. bookings other than direct to Alto Hotel website, telephone or e-mail) may have different terms and conditions. Changes and or cancellations should be directed to the company, travel agent, website or third party where you made your original booking
